Vendors, we want to hear from you! We want the market to be a great place for the whole community to gather, and that includes you. You are extremely important to us and we sincerely care how you feel. We have created a short survey to help give us an idea on some of your thoughts about the market. If there is anything further you’d like to add, you can reach out to your market manager, Phil Sattler at firstname.lastname@example.org or the BCWF Executive Director, Heather Humphrey at email@example.com
Join us Saturday, September 30th for a fun day of pumpkin decorating at the market! Pumpkins will be provided by one of our vendors and kids can choose their favorite one. We will provide crafting material so they can decorate their pumpkins to their liking before they take them home. Feel free to walk around the market and shop while your kids are busy creating their masterpieces. This is a free event and no registration is required, all you have to do is show up between 10am and 12pm.
You may have noticed a new friendly face around the Farmer’s Market this year. We are pleased to introduce Phil Sattler as the new Market Manager. Phil took over the role at the beginning of the 2017 season, replacing Derek Grit. Derek put in many endless hours and did a great job, but he was offered a great career opportunity and we wish him all the best!
Phil Sattler has been involved with the Byron Center community for many years. He has worked with Byron Township Rec Center for over 9 years doing various jobs such as summer rec leader, recreation assistant and scorekeeper. During his years there, he coordinated and led many youth activities including games, crafts and field trips. He has also put years in at Byron Township as an election assistant, helping out with many various jobs during election season.
Phil graduated from Byron Center High School in 2014 where he lettered in football, wrestling and track. He is currently in his senior year of completing a bachelor of science degree at Michigan State, majoring in statistics and double minoring in mathematics and philosophy.
He has two brothers, one of which is his twin. He also has a beautiful family including his fiancée, Lauren and their daughter, Nora.
Phil has done a great job at the market getting to know the regular vendors, as well as meeting new vendors. He has augmented our market’s atmosphere by incorporating music, but above all, his willingness to help and his calm demeanor have supplemented our reputation of community-mindedness, here at the Farmer’s Market.
Do not hesitate to visit Phil during any market day with questions or concerns. For an immediate reply or further inquiries, he can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The countdown to Byron Days is in full swing and it’s right around the corner! The parade will be taking place Saturday morning on July 29, a perfect time to stop by the Farmers Market.
During the market, we will be holding a Kid’s Day event from 10am-12pm where your kids can make DIY stress balls. We will be using rice to fill balloons, tie it up and they can decorate it to their liking. Kids can make this craft while you shop, giving you time to browse around the market.
This is a free event and there is no registration required.
